Yesterday went tuu the newly-built changi terminal 3... It was really magnificent!!! Our first response when we get down the bus was 'Wow!'. Hahas... Was really very big and the main material used were glass and steel if i'm nort wrong... Hahas... Eh didn't take any pics cos no camera... Anywae i'll us try tuu describe the airport as accurately as i can???
Someone frm the changi airport took us round the airport... Then she explained every details of the aiport tuu us... It's as big as around 63 football fields! Jus imagine the size! Below are the other features of the changi terminal 3:
Checkpoints:
departure checkpoints has gort 18 manual checkpoints and 8 biometric checkpoints... Then arrival hall has gort 16 manual checkpoints and 6 biometric chaeckpoints... Cool huh?
Green wall:
a long stretch of wall with plants growing on them and the plants are watered at regular intervals with the high tech irrigation system...
Lighting:
Using solar energy tuu light up the aiport, it uses 193 solar panels(if i'm nort wrong), tuu trap the light and bring it into the airport. When there are insufficient light, flourescent light bulbs (srr, i dun really noe the terms of it) will be used tuu ligh tthe airport up instead...
Butterfly park:
An open area that was initially designed tuu be a smoking area has now been converted into a butterfly park instead... There were beautiful plants there and a beautiful scenery as well...
Skytrain:
A train used tuu transport passengers frm terminal tuu terminal among the 3 terminals can carry up tuu 97 passengers at a time... Really surprised by the amount of people it can carry at a time... (qwerts and i were wishing that we counld go on it! XD)
Aerobridges:
Bridges that can be connected frm the aiport tuu the doors of the aeroplanes... Heard that the feeling when standing on the aerobridges were totally diff frm that of standing in the airport so wanted tuu try it too! Special aerobridges like 2, 4, 5 and 7 were designed especially for the A380 aircraft (world's first biggest commercial aircraft---three storey!)
After the tour we returned tuu the arrival area where ppl usually go there tuu welcome back their friends... It looks jus as the same as those in TV dramas where ppl usually wait fer their friends or family members tuu welcome them back... Felt a special feeling instantly... the terminal 3 will be opened tuu the public on the 9th of january 2008 so it'll be good tuu go there and experience the feeling yourself XD...
P.S. There at the airport suddenly tot of how good it will be if me and gracia were at the airport tuu receive euu guys and tuu see euu guys cm down frm A380... **faintz**
